RESIDENCY DATES

Please note, the first three residencies are for UK-based artists only, due to Covid-19. The fourth residency is open to international artists, subject to travel restrictions.

Summer Residency: 12 August–8 September (UK artists only)

Autumn Residency: 16 September–13 October (UK artists only)

Winter Residency: 21 October–17 November (UK artists only)

International Residency: 22 November -19 December (International artists)

How to enter:

Your submission should include the following:

1. A couple of sentences on what you plan to make during your time on the residency. (100 words max) 

2. How would the residency benefit you? (100 words max)

3. How many days per week you would be able to commit to the studio during your time on the residency?

4. A brief outline of your practice. (100 words max)

5. A list of artists you hope to connect with in London

6. A selection of 5 images of your recent work.

Moving image and other mediums are welcome but please note, these must be attached in a format that will not expire (no WeTransfer).

7. If you have a website or an Instagram account please attach links.

8. Your preferred residency slot. (e.g. 1st choice Summer, 2nd choice Winter, and unable to do Autumn)

The Studios:

Cob Studios is a 35m2 space within Cob Gallery, one minute from Camden Road station and five minutes from Camden Town Tube. Near the Regent’s Canal, Camden Market and just above King’s Cross, it is in a thriving part of London, which has long been at the intersection of music, art and counterculture.

Studios Hours are:

Mon - Fri : 8am - 11pm

Sat : 8am - 11pm

Sun: 8am - 11pm

Studio Manager onsite on Thursdays.

The studio space will be shared between three artists. Cob Gallery has commissioned bespoke partition walls, which give residents the option of creating their own self-contained space.

We strictly adhere to Covid-19 rules in accordance with government guidelines. Protective masks will be onsite and expected to be worn in communal areas in the main gallery space. Sanitiser will also be provided.

The studios will be converted into an exhibition space for the end of residency show.

Residency Conditions:

Each artist will donate one artwork on paper to Cob Gallery for the the Residency Archive.

Duration of days for the residency: 4 weeks

Number of spaces per month : 3

We have allocated our budget towards incredible Central London studios and tuition. Unfortunately we will not be providing accommodation, expenses or air travel at this time.
